NEW LEADERSHIP DELIVERING RESULTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY
I am Gregory Chittum and I would appreciate you considering me for Port Aransas Mayor! Port Aransas is the most wonderful place in Texas to live and I would like to do my part to serve and represent the taxpayer both residential and business owners in our great city.
About me, I am a native Texan born in Abilene and raised in the Big Country, my family were business owners and I grew up in business. I have experience in sales and customer service, agriculture, oilfield, construction. In 2000 I established cmauctions.com, my team works with a variety of sellers,Individuals, businesses and municipalities throughout Texas.
I first came to "Port A" as a young child vacationing with my family, from the first visit I dreamed of living here! I love the environment of Mustang Island, the climate,fishing "bay and offshore", wonderful beaches and island sights and sounds. My dream became reality in 2014 as I was able to make a home purchase. I moved here fulltime in 2017. Harvey destroyed my home but not my dreams, instead it made it possible to build my forever home and be my own general contractor. I worked through the process of building permits, inspections and all other aspects of building a new home as well as completing much of the work myself.
I will use my background and experiences to work with residents and business owners to keep our community the best place on earth. Tourism is the lifeblood here and I believe that there has to be a harmony between residents, tourists, business owners and government officials, therefore I will make the mayor's office transparent and available to all. Open door policies, town hall events will be implemented. Duly elected and government officials have to be accountable to their constituents and I look forward to working and building relationships with all. I will also work diligently to procure relationships with county, state and federal entities to benefit our community. The taxpayer deserves to be protected and well served, you don't have choices in your tax rate but you deserve to have your tax dollars spent wisely and you deserve to be recognized. I will make sure to protect your interest. Your voice as a taxpayer needs to be heard. I am here to listen.
